As a centennial celebration of Nankai University, Tsi-tung Li Memorial lectureship fund and Hongzhang Yin Outstanding Alumni Memorial lectureship have been established by the alumni of Life Science College. On behalf of the College of Life Sciences of Nankai University and the Organize Committee for Memorial Lectureships, we express our sincere gratitude for your contribution in the support of the Memorial Lectureships. 

Brief introduction of Mr. Jidong Li's life: Jitong Li (1897-1961), a native of Xinghua, Jiangsu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a famous botanist, ecologist, a pioneer of plant physiology in China, and one of the founders of plant ecology and geobotany. He graduated from Jinling University in 1921, received a doctorate degree from the School of Forestry of Yale University in the United States in 1925, and was employed as a professor and head of the Department of Biology of Nankai University from 1926 to 1929, establishing a complete curriculum system for the Department of Biology in the initial period, expanding the laboratory, reference room and specimen room, paying attention to the combination of teaching and practice in teaching, and taking the lead in discovering the instantaneous effect of photosynthesis speed in the world in scientific research, and is the pioneer of the theory of photochemical reaction system.


Brief introduction of Mr. Hongzhang Yin's life: Hongzhang Yin (1908-1992), a native of Guiyang, Guizhou, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a famous plant physiologist, a pioneer of photosynthesis research in China, and one of the main founders of plant physiology in China. He graduated from the Department of Biology of Nankai University in 1929, then stayed on to teach, studied at Tsinghua University from 1933 to 1934, went to the California Institute of Technology in the United States in 1935 to study for a doctorate, returned to China in 1938 and successively worked in Southwest United University, Peking University and Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the director of the Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, he was engaged in the research of plant biochemistry, photosynthesis and growth and development throughout his life, and made important contributions to the development of plant physiology in China.
