Professor Qingbo Xu from King’s College London Gave a Lecture in the College

  Profs. Qingbo Xu at King’s College London delivered a talk on Role of Stem Cells in Vascular Remodelling on Sep 14, 2016.  

  Professor Xu qualified in Medicine at Peking Union Medical College and then the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He was appointed Professor in Cardiovascular Science at St George’s Hospital in 2000 and then to the BHF John Parker Chair of Cardiovascular Sciences at King’s College London in 2006. He has a very prominent international profile in vascular biology as evidenced by numerous invited lectures at national and international scientific meetings, chairing of many research conferences, service on the editorial boards of eminent journals (e.g. Consulting Editor, the American Heart Association Journal ATVB), and membership of national and international committees. He is the president of the Academy of Life Science for Chinese in the UK. Professor Xu’s original work has thus contributed to atherosclerosis research, as indicated by his publication list. More than 60 papers have >100 citations and his H-index is 75.  

  In this talk, Prof. Xu introduced the recent progress in vascular biology, and mainly focused on the role of vascular stem cells in atherogenesis and the biology of the arterial wall. The lecture was warmly welcomed by all the participants including graduates and undergraduates, who had active and in-depth discussion with Professor Xu.
